Hello

I would like to use a large tile package (.tpk) base map file in Collector.  Like many, I have limited storage space on our devices.  Can anyone please explain how in Collector I can use tile packages from an external SD card location on an Android  device?

I have seen that some claim to be able to do this, but I am unclear on some of the phone file storage and root tech jargon.

ESRI, is this something you are planning to officially fix in an upcoming update?

Thanks in advance for any help or pointers.

Cheers

Ben

Hi Ben -

What version of Android are you running on your device?

Unfortunately we don't support using the SD card on Android 4.4 (KitKat) or later. This is something on our roadmap.

Hi Kylie - do you know where on ESRI's roadmap this is going to be (ex. first half of 2017, July next year, etc)? Pretty important to companies trying to run collector on less-expensive platforms with minimal upgrades to memory

I'm sorry, I don't have any timeline information for this one.
