Has anyone used an external GPS receiver connected via bluetooth on an Android device using Collector?
We have an SX Blue II GNSS receiver.
I don't see any gps settings inside Collector like ArcGIS Mobile has.
You will need some 3rd party app to configure in Android.
Here is the instruction:
- Configure Android tablet to use mock locations: go to Settings->Applications->Development and enable the Allow mock locations option.
-Bluetooth pair your tablet with your receiver
-Download Bluetooth GPS (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=googoo.android.btgps&hl=en). Install and open the app on the Android tablet
-In Android Bluetooth GPS app, go to the Main tab: Make sure that Enable Mock GPS Provider is checked.
-Select the receiver from the pulldown menu at the top of the screen.
-Click the Connect button.
-The app will begin to communicate with the external GPS and show you information about the connection.
-You can check Status to see position info
-Now you are ready to use Collector to grab location from external receiver
Thanks!
-Bluetooth pair your tablet with your receiver
How did you pair your SX Blue at this step? I tried 1234, 0000 and just a space but it still says incorrect PIN or password.
1234 or 0000 is the common PIN for bluetooth receiver. If this doesn't work, you need to check the manual of SX Blue or contact their customer support.
SXBlue (all models) Passcode = 12345678
