Project Z tool from High Accuracy Collector Tools Not Allowing me to Select the Altitude attribute

I'm trying to run the project Z tool from the Collector for ArcGIS High Accuracy GPS toolset (collector-tools/project_z.md at master · Esri/collector-tools · GitHub) and even through the altitude attribute exists on a feature class the project z geoprocssing tool for ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro will not let me select the altitude attribute from the list.

When I reference a feature class with the GNSS Metadata fields the tool pre-populates the lat and lon fields correctly, but it pre-populates the altitude to another field in the feature class and I cannot change the field which it points to.

Has anyone seen this before. I've been able to successfully run this tool many times, but on this particular feature class it will not work.

Did you ever find a work around for this?

I did not, I'm still having that issue. I have been able to export the feature class to a shapefile and use that if necessary.
