Collector for iPad with Location Tracking dropping duplicate points after iOS 9 update

After the iPads were update to iOS 9 the location tracking is producing duplicate points. Instead of dropping a single point every 30s (iOS 8.3), two points are dropped every 30s (iOS 9). There is one iPad still on iOS 8.3 with the Collector app on the current version and still drops a single point every 30s. Also, the layer is not added twice in the Portal Map.

I assumed the next update to Collector would fix this however it did not and must be a bug with Collector for iPad. Please advise.

the latest news release on the blog What’s New In Collector (December 2015) | ArcGIS Blog which lists some bug fixes, which I don't think apply.  Perhaps, this is a new one.

Thanks, but it is not listed, the bug must have been overlooked.

I can reproduce the error. I will enter an issue for our dev team to look at.
