Does CityEngine support EPSG 4326?

Does anyone know how to translate EPSG 4326 into EPSG 32630 (without arcGIS)?  I'm having trouble getting my terrain to align with my shapefiles.

I don't understand the problem I'm having.

I have UK data in "WGS84 - EPSG 4326" however when I import it into CityEngine it puts it in "WGS 1984 UTM Zone 30N EPSG:32630".

This is OK for vector data but raster data imports somewhere many miles away.  I have converted the raster into EPSG:32630 using qGIS but it doesn't help at all - it seems to import into the same position as before but is now a bit squashed.  How do I get things to line up like they do when I view them in qGIS.

Hi !

I'm not sure about this precise projection. There's some (rare) ones which are not supported indeed, but I'm not sure if it's possible to create such a list.

Thus I usually recommend to use the default UTM projection.

Let me know if reprojecting works for you ..

Thanks Matt

I got it to work but it's not ideal - I have to reproject it, then note down the xy coords and dimensions so I can position it in CE.  There is a slight rotation applied in the reprojection so I get some zero values around the edges of the bounding rectangle - this makes me think I will not get a clean reprojection back into EPSG4326 after export if I have altered the terrain (but I haven't tested this yet).

I'm suprised if EPSG4326 is rare - according to wiki it is the latest version of WGS84:

edit:
Maybe this is the problem, I guess 4326 is spherical - does CE only do flat earth approximations?

CE supports all projected coordinate systems, but as geographic ones only WGS84.

Well, I'm no specialist in that field. 😉

Maybe it's best that you send me a test set of the data ?
