Graphs modify terrain geometry (cut through it) - how can it be reset?

Hello,

Apparently theres somekind of feature in CE (2012 at least) that when you draw a graph segment on a terrain the graph automatically alters the geometry of the terrain and sort of cuts through it (see image). Can this feature be disabled? Can the terrain be reset so that it wouldnt have that excavation hole anymore?
