I used the format: Esri FileGDB to export my model from CityEngine, and now I want to bring it into ArcScene, but I can't seem to figure out how.

This is pretty simple, you just bring it in as you would any new file by clicking the add data button. It's just put the files into a geodatabase as meshes, so when you add the data it brings in the model into the scene.

When I did that, it was going on four days of trying to import into ArcScene.  What file format do I need to make sure to export out of CityEngine?

Hi,
I attached some screenshots the steps that I take to export a building from CE.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Scott.  Will it work the same for streets?

I will give that a try.

OK, so when I followed what you had done I got this error message:

Hi .

Such Errors can appear because :

- rule file contains errors
- no rule assigned to shape
- start rule not set properly
- actual CGA operation error ( rarely and can be mostly ignored )
- ..

Usually, this info message can be igored, but actually reading the content of the log may give you more inputs.

The export has completed, so try to import what you got into ArcScene. I guess it has worked anyway.

Nope, there's nothing in the file geodatabase.  I tried it a couple of times, once having it exported to an existing geodatabase and once into a new one.  I'm not grabbing that big of an area, and I went through, at least I think I did, to make sure everything had a rule.  I will check that again and try it again.

Thanks guys!
