Hi,

The software patch does not work for me, I tried it and the installation failed with an error. Finally the solution mentioned in one of the posts (http://forums.arcgis.com/threads/70476-Authorization-issues-with-CityEngine-2012.1)to start the ArcGIS Administrator from the command prompt with a switch ??ver , worked.

The workstation in which I was trying this installation has windows 7 x64 professional with ArcGIS 10.0 DT and Server.

Hi,

Please can you confirm you are using the native 64-bit install of CityEngine 2012 or the 32-bit native install on your 64-bit Windows?

Many Thanks,
Peter

Vipul,

I am unable to reproduce your error.  I have run the patch successfully against both the CityEngine 2012 64-bit and 32-bit native application setups on Windows 7 x64 Enterprise.

More information will be required to identify the problem.

Hi,

I had downloaded the patch from the esri website and when I run the exe it says the error of incorrect version of the windows 64/32 bit (screenshot above post).  My workstation has windows 7 pro x64.

Hi !

Peter Adams (above ) and his team have tried to reproduce your issue with fresh instances of both win 7 32 bit and 64 bit, but were not able to reproduce your issue. So theoretically, it should work !

Do you have access to an other machine to test the activation ? Sadly, it could be anything .. 😞

One of the users has experienced an issue where the City Engine 2012.1 was looking for the 'esriLincense.config' file under his roaming user profile (i.e. \\<server>\<profile>\esriLicense.config) - while the file was actually present under the local user profile on C:\. The user is on Win7 64-bit with ArcGIS Desktop 10.1 installed. Could anyone please confirm if the aforementioned patch only fixes the City Engine 2012 authorization issues pertaining to the cases where the ArcGIS 10.0 is installed OR could be used with the 10.1 present on the system, as well?

Thanks,
Max
