We are excited to announce the upcoming update of ArcGIS Business Analyst Pro, planned for November 13, 2025. Take your analysis and insights deeper with new additions to the software like the Add Business Analyst Data utility, discover documentation for improved user education, and experience streamlined performance and accessibility improvements.

Please note that all planned updates are subject to change; check back to stay informed about the latest news regarding the upcoming release. Our What's New blog article and documentation will provide a comprehensive list of enhancements.

New features

Add Business Analyst Data

Add Business Analyst Data is a brand-new utility that will allow you to build datasets for a single level of geography by enriching standard geographies or hexagons with demographic data. These datasets can be used in ArcGIS Pro projects and analysis. This utility combines several geoprocessing tools—like Generate Standard Geography Trade Areas or Enrich Layer — that users would have previously needed to run individually or as part of a model.

Data guidelines and best practices documentation

This release includes the addition of an in-application link to ArcGIS Pro documentation that will provide users with details on data guidelines and best practices, permitted uses, and restrictions.

Performance and productivity improvements

New floating windows in Territory Design workflow

Previously, working with geoprocessing tools in territory design would open the tools in a docked pane, which covered the Modify Territories pane. With this update, the tools will open in a floating window instead. This update affords users more flexibility to keep working with other areas in their analysis as they can move the pane around.

Improvements to benchmark comparisons

New comparison methods

  •  Two new methods for benchmark comparisons: Quantiles and Highlight extremes. With the addition of these two new methods, Business Analyst Pro and Business Analyst Web App now have the same comparison methods in both apps. Identify outliers easily with Highlight extremes and separate subsets of data with Quantiles.

Updates to Results pane

  • Now users will be able to double-click or right-click the results in the Contents pane and all the previous components a user was working with in the Results pane are reopened. This means that closing the Properties pane does not lose progress in the Results pane.
  • We will also introduce a new View Results button, which displays the table, summary, scatterplot, and histogram views of your analysis.
  • Table views in the Results pane will include commands for Flash, Zoom To, Pan To, and indicators for sorted fields.
  • When working with site attributes, text-based attributes are now marked with an icon and ID field to signify that the attributes are not being included in the analysis.
  • The Export to Excel button will be updated to display analysis attributes in color to easily visualize the comparison methods in the table. This update delivers the same experience released in the June 2025 update of ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App.

Improvements to points of interest (POI) Place icons

Place icons use intuitive iconography that visually identify what kinds of places the points of interest represent. In the POI search, the style icon will now display on the map as a preview, and these icons can be interacted with prior to running analysis.

Accessibility improvements

Improvements to screen reader utility

Screen readers’ announcement capability has been improved. With this update, folder paths will be announced so that users will hear a more detailed announcement for navigation within the application.

Keyboard accessibility

Keyboard navigation has been improved for a better user experience.
