ArcGIS Business Analyst Desktop/ArcMap has been in mature status since June 2022 and will follow the schedule of the ArcGIS Desktop/ArcMap product life cycle. For the last two years, the Business Analyst team has been producing data compatibility packages for Business Analyst Desktop to support users during their transition over to ArcGIS Business Analyst Pro. Starting in 2024, US data compatibility packages for Business Analyst Desktop will no longer be produced and new data will no longer be backward compatible.
When was the last US data compatibility package released for Business Analyst Desktop?
The last data compatibility packages for Business Analyst Desktop were released in November 2023. We highly recommend you transition over to Business Analyst Pro to gain access to the latest data updates.
Can I still use the existing data packages?
Users can continue to use historical data. Going forward, US data packages created for Business Analyst Pro will not be backward compatible for use in Business Analyst Desktop.
How do I gain access to the latest data?
All Business Analyst Desktop license types that are current on maintenance will continue to receive annual data updates for Business Analyst Pro. All Business Analyst Desktop users have access to a Business Analyst Pro license to support this migration.

We highly recommend you transition over to Business Analyst Pro, the desktop GIS software that enables you to perform advanced spatial analytics and modeling with the latest data updates.
