ArcGIS Bathymetry allows you to manage and visualize bathymetric data in ArcGIS Pro by providing tools for indexing bathymetric datasets, creating products, editing, and composing surfaces from composite datasets.
In ArcGIS Pro 3.6, the ArcGIS Bathymetry extension dives into supporting the new S-102 Bathymetric Surface Product Specification standard established by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO). The S-102 standard is intended for use in Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) alongside other S-100 products to help ensure safety of navigation at sea and in waterways.

Initial support is available with two new tools that are provided in the product data files. These two tools, Export To S-102 and Add S-102 Fields, are part of the S-102 toolbox. While the toolbox does not appear in ArcGIS Pro automatically, once it is added, the toolbox and its tools will appear in the Geoprocessing pane for easy access, much like ArcGIS Pro’s standardly available tools.
The first of these tools, Export To S-102, allows you to create S-102 products from mosaic datasets containing one or more rasters. This tool allows for some flexibility. It can accept mosaic rasters from a BIS or multiband mosaic datasets that are not part of an existing BIS. If you have raster data that is not already in a mosaic dataset, it can be prepared as a mosaic dataset. To prepare raster data, you can use either the Create Mosaic Dataset tool or the Add Rasters To Mosaic Dataset tool.
The second tool in the S-102 toolbox, Add S-102 Fields, allows you to add optional fields to a mosaic dataset. Fourteen optional fields are available, which are added to the featureAttributeTable. These fields can be applied to a mosaic dataset or directly to a BisCatalog. This allows you to store more information about the rasters, such as survey data range, data assessment, and types of features detected. However, to add these supplemental fields to an S-102 product, they must be added to the mosaic dataset before an S-102 product is exported.
Once exported, S-102 products can be added to a map in ArcGIS Pro and used to visualize and analyze the condition of seafloor and waterways.
