Navigator custom URL scheme is not working in the map viewer template

Question

I cannot get the Navigator custom URL scheme to work in the App Studio Map Viewer template. I enabled a custom popup in my web map and added a hyperlink with the following custom URL. When I try to select the hyperlink nothing happens. When I insert the this URL in the browser of my device (iPhone) Navigator is prompted to open.

This is a known issue with webmap popups where custom urls (urls that do not start with http or https) will be encoded and the apps will not be able to understand that its a link but will look just like a string. Nothing much we can do from the app side unless yopu exactly know what to look for and manipulate it before showing the popup in the app.
