Any way to label features with a text halo?

Does anyone know of a way to label features with text that has a halo/mask around the label text? This when using a feature service/offline geodatabase feature layer.

Setting a halo in the mxd seems to get removed during the feature service publishing.

Am looking for a better looking text label over imagery - a single plain color doesn't look that great.

Cheers,

-Paul

Not possible. Currently in 10.2.x runtime the label support is rudimentary.

If you add your service to your AGOL map as a feature layer, i.e. url not ending with ../layer#, your labels will appear as you intended in your MXD.

Hi Michael

Thanks for the reply. However, the question is asked in relation to AppStudio, not AGOL. In Qt Creator, add a Featurelayer object with the enableLabels set to true will activate any labelling on the feature service or geodatabase table source, but as yet I haven't found a way to achieve the halo effect.

Cheers.

Ok, thanks Sathya. I assume this is something on the roadmap for the future...

Yes Quartz Runtime should have better support for labels.
