White color around edges of labels in map services

Hi,

I have multiple services as layers in the silverlight web application and when one layer ( map service ) is turned on to overlay on another layer ( map service ) , i see white color around edges of labels in one of the map service........Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this ??

Is your cache using PNG32 ? If not you won't get nicely antialiased edges

Yes it is using Png 32  and the anti aliasing is set to off

Earlier to tackle the same problem on another machine which has arcgis desktop installed , we have set the anti aliasing to none when publishing mxds as MSD'S using ARCMAP and the problem was solved

Now i am working on another machine which does'nt have arcgis desktop installed and we are pusblishing mxds using ArcGis server manager with anti aliasing set to off but the problem seems to stay....

Do you think that it gonna work if i set anti aliasing to on ?

I had this problem when overlaying map services. If white is the background color then anything white will be transparent when overlaying other service. Do you have mask on the labels? If so change the color of the mask to RGB - 255, 255, 253.

Ya that solves the problem but i want label color to be black rather than white as you specified...Is there any other work around to keep the label names in black without having white space around labels

This is an older thread but I'm wondering if anyone solved this problem. I'm experiencing exactly the same problem as the original poster: black labels with white halos (used anti-aliasing & PNG32 to no avail).

Any help/pointers are greatly appreciated. TIA!

i'm having the same issue with labels and character marker symbols...  using Server 9.3.1... any help would be greatly appreciated
