Hi Guys,

I would like verify that current geodesic measurement algorithm used in ArcGIS server is the same as the one published by Karney as below link?

We are using Vincenty with some adaptions for near-antipodal cases for distance/geodesic line calculations. We are aware of Karney's publications and may switch to his at some point in the future.

Thank Kennedy,

Geo-scientists at my client side keen on looking forward to having it.

May I know the release plan?

Is there any suggested workflow to customize or add that measurement algorithm to ArcGIS environment.

One way I am thinking of it as providing as one add-in or extent the measurement add-in of the ArcGIS pro.

What do you recommend?

There's no way to override / replace the algorithm in the existing tools or functionality. You would have to write an add-in.

Thank Melita,

We shall do the new add-in with Karney's algorithm.
