SFV - popup on layer visiblility and zoom to selected items?

I have a two questions.

1) I would like a to have a popup or alert when certain layers are toggled to visible. Is this possible to implement in the SFV?

2) I've been trying to figure how to make the search results zoom to selected features automatically. If I searched on parcel ABC and the results can back as 1 or 10 results, is it possible for it to automatically zoom to this feature(s)?
