I have an application that generates high traffic in the winter during snow events. I am trying to streamline the application as much a possible and eliminate unnecessary trips to the server. It uses a tiled layer for a base map. The specs for this tiled layer never change (or rarely). I want to eliminate the initial call to the REST service to get service information. I would like to hard-code that information into the application. The call to the server is not necessary since I never change the service specs. If the service specs change, a re-compile is well worth saving thousands of trips to the server to get data that rarely changes.
Can the service information be hard-coded? Can the request for service specs from the REST handler be short-circuited so it doesn't fire?
