Address Locator to find single line address

Hi,

I am using ArcGIS 9.3. I have a single line address and need to use Address Locator to find its location.
The address locator needs Street, City, State and zip as separate arguments.

Is there any standard way to split the single line address into street city state and zip columns. Or is there any way we can query the Address Locator with single line address.

Thanks,
Tabrez Nadeem.

Tabrez,

The work of splitting an address into address, city state and zip is not always straight forward. There is hope though here is a quote from the ESRI resources page.

For the initial release of locators, ESRI has multi-line inputs for the North American (NA) and European (EU) Address Locators, and single line input for the World Places Locator. ESRI is working on a NA address locator that will be combined with the World Places Locator, and ESRI intends to test and release it as a single line geocoding service.

Thanks Robert.

Maybe I will have to use the old way of accepting address as separate fields and wait for the new release.
