This is a joint research project by Yamaha Motor, Obayashi Corporation, and ESRI Japan involving forest 3D visualization. Yamaha Motor's forest measurement service "RINTO" uses LiDAR to acquire tree data, which is then visualized in 3D on a game engine using ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unity.33D 'RINTO' , using LiDAR, tree data acquired is expressed in 3D on a game engine with ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unity., LiDAR ArcGIS Maps SDK for Unity 3D representation.2D maps made it difficult to understand tree placement and forest interior conditions; visualizing these helps explore how forest management operations can be improved.
