My goal is to assess the percentage of sky visible in a observer's frame of vision while walking on the street. A frame of vision should be a "box" that is visible when you look ahead with your line of sight parallel to the ground. The area is about 45 degree left, right, up and down from the observer's line of sight. We are trying to use ArcGIS 10 Skyline and Skyline Graph tool to calculate the sky visibility ratio. We have building and tree models imported as multipatch data for skyline generation. However, the Skyline Graph tool only restricts the azimuth range of the skyline, not the vertical range. The Base Visibility Angle parameter is used as a base line of the calculation, not restricting the upper and lower frame of the vision. Is there any way to calculate the proportion of sky within a vision frame?
