Quick tip: Use the New Post button from the ArcGIS Ideas page or from any product category page. Steps Navigate to the ArcGIS Ideas tab on the global navigation bar. Click New Post and select New Idea. Click Choose Category in the Post a Discussion ribbon. Search for the product in the Category field, and choose Idea for…
This article explains what belongs in ArcGIS Ideas and provides guidance for creating a strong submission using the fields available in the Idea form. Why it matters: A well-written idea makes it easy for Esri product teams and Esri Community members understand your suggestion for a new feature. Quick tip: When writing an…
Currently the only option (that I'm aware of) to set feature service capabilities is at the service level. It would be very helpful to be able to control feature service capabilities at the layer level for referenced services published through ArcGIS Server. The current hosted feature layer view capabilities have their…
Please provide us a complete list of all known bugs and limitations found in a new release. It is important to be aware of those bugs, especially if they have not been fixed / no patch is made available to this point. https://support.esri.com/en-us/bug cannot be filtered by Product and Version to my knowledge, it also does…
This idea stems from this post in the Esri Community: Re: Restrict editing to related record only; not a... - Page 2 - Esri Community There are editing workflows in our organization that require the ability for field workers to add, update, and delete related records that have been joined to a parent feature layer.…
Portal for ArcGIS 10.3.1 does not allow for the username to contain an apostrophe. This makes it hard for people of Irish and Scottish origin who have apostrophes in their usernames and emails: e.g. KO’Connell@acme.com Please think about the Irish and the Scots and allow apostrophes in usernames and names on Portal for…
Our security auditors noticed that in ArcGIS Portal, you can directly browse to a user's profile page and obtain some information, even when the profile is set to be private. Here's an example: Pick any user in your ArcGIS Enterprise and navigate to https://my-esri-portal.com/portal/sharing/rest/community/users/user.name…
Hey All, An idea I have had recently due to our data analyst team experiencing many issues. We find it quite inconvenient that administrator roles need to be applied to allow users to use analysis tools for our Enterprise setup, and the current process to pull CSVs from the information on the Portal is quite inconvenient…
It would be nice in API for Python if we could generate list of usernames that have accessed arcgis enterprise web applications and which applications they accessed. It is not easy crawling through IIS logs to get this info. If there is already a better way to do this then I'd love to know. Thank you in advance
At present, the Information Banner, that you can set within your Organisation's settings area of Enterprise, only displays the message on the Portal home page/contents pages etc and Web Maps. It would be really useful if the Information Banner could also be displayed on the apps that these Web Maps feed, such as Experience…
ESRI should develop recycle bin functionality for Portal. ArcGIS Online is getting one.. https://community.esri.com/t5/arcgis-online-questions/recycle/m-p/1392012#M57907 There is no news about Portal getting a recycle bin. But I'm not the only user who wants this functionality in Portal also.…
ArcGIS Enterprise currently allows administrators to enable or disable the ArcGIS Server Services Directory globally. This is useful for reducing public exposure, but it is too broad for secure enterprise deployments. Many organizations need to keep REST API access available for applications, ArcGIS Pro, Field Maps,…
