Hi Esri Community 👋

I'm based in Gwadar, Balochistan, Pakistan.

Seeing Gwadar grow with CPEC, new port activity, trade routes, and smart city projects first-hand.
This is a huge opportunity for GIS professionals here and globally.

From my perspective, the key GIS needs right now are:
1. **Urban Planning** - Land use, zoning, and smart infrastructure mapping
2. **Trade & Logistics** - Port connectivity + CPEC route optimization
3. **Tourism + Environment** - Coastal management where desert meets Arabian Sea

My question to the community:
Is anyone else working on GIS projects in Gwadar or other CPEC cities in Pakistan?
Which ArcGIS tools have been most useful for you - Community Analyst, ArcGIS Online, Imagery, or Field Maps?

Thanks for posting.  Hope you have had an opportunity to follow some of the events at 2026 ESRI UC.....  https://www.esri.com/en-us/about/events/uc/agenda/plenary#videos.   Allow me to ask how many schools in and around Gwadar have MAP MAKER software, or use ESRI software and tools?   Scroll down towards the bottom of the Plenary session videos, but definitely watch as much of the 3 full plenary sessions as you are able.

Saddened that war is so close to your region.  As I was reviewing your post, it reminded me of the years, I spent traveling in all 7 of the Central Asian STANS, including 3 train trips from Quetta to Zahedan on Pakistan railways....
