Slow loading map tours on StoryMap

Question

Hello! I recently created a StoryMap that involves two map tours. Both of these seem to be significantly slow in loading and laggy when they do load. I’ve tried everything I can think of: deleting all unnecessary layers, switching out the base map, trying the StoryMap from different browsers and computers… I can’t seem to figure it out.

@SarahPearce - I wonder if the slight lagginess you are seeing could be from the polygon layer. If that is a very detailed layer, you might want to try generalizing it to remove some of the detail to see if that helps.

I just tested on my end and performance was fine - what browsers are in use? Are the performance issues all in the same browser?

If you duplicate the storymap, are you seeing the same issues in that?

Thank you so much for the quick response, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the story. 🙂 I have tried it outside of my network; there's a few authors/collaborators on the map, and they've also reported having some troubles with slow loading/lagging.
