Crosstab Query

A tool that allows you to crosstab data for analysis would be useful. In MS Access you can create crosstab queries which are useful for summarizing data over time based on a whole set of parameters. Very often I find myself creating data or maintaining planning related datasets in personal geodatabases because I can easily create crosstab queries inside the Access backend. However, this is impossible if the data is stored inside a file geodatabase because you can't access the backend data through MS Access.

I may be wrong, but the "Pivot Table" tool in the Toolbox may accomplish the crosstab that you want, under a different name. Have you tried it?

It's worth emphasising that the Pivot Table tool is an ArcInfo licensed tool so of no use to us lesser mortals.
