We need a configuration enhancement in the Public Notification Widget that will allow for the 'Apply Search Distance' be set to ON by default. Currently a user has to click on it for it to come on.
This change would significantly enhance usability of some apps based on this widget. I have observed many users who did not notice the tick box for applying a search distance, or did not read it properly, or did not think carefully enough about what it might mean. So I often see them having a 'eureka moment' when they tick the box and immediately understand how the widget works and what it can do for them.
