2019 UC Presenter Resources
Be sure to download a copy of this year’s UC Speaker Packet for a downloadable version of all you need to know for your presentation.
Preparing for the Conference
Each session will have an assigned session facilitator. The session facilitator will be contacting each presenter to discuss deadlines, answer questions, and provide resources. If you do not hear from your session facilitator by May 17th, please contact the UC Agenda Committee. This facilitator will also be your contact on-site to help set up your presentation as well as keep time for your session group and provide the laptop that you will use for your presentation.
This year, your presentations do not need to be submit before the conference, but your facilitator will ask to see a draft before the event to check your status. You are welcome to share your presentation slides after the conference has ended. We will open a portal for your grant permissions and upload your slide deck. An email with more information will be sent closer to the conference.
PowerPoint Slide Suggestions
You can download the UC PowerPoint Template here. You are not required to use this slide deck. We only offer it as a resource but you are welcome to use your organization's slide deck or use any custom slides.
- All PowerPoint presentations must use a 16:9 ratio.
- Use a minimum text size of 18 points to ensure readability in large conference rooms. Consider dividing content among additional slides as needed.
- Use high-contrast colors for text, graphics, and related formatting such as bullets and arrows. Avoid red, dark green, or black text on dark backgrounds. Recommended text colors for dark backgrounds are white, yellow, light green, or light blue.
- If you are planning to include a demo or story map in your presentation, please be sure to check that your file is not behind a security wall so you can access the presentation on site.
- If you use animations, please limit them to a minimum and practice your presentation to become familiar with the progression.
- If your presentation has sound, please note that there are no speakers in the room setup, but you can request speakers. Please see below for how to make requests
- You are welcome to use our template PowerPoint file, but it is not required. The template will be available at a later date.

A wireless connection is provided for all Esri UC attendees. This can be accessed in general areas, session rooms, and meeting rooms. While the signal is usually reliable, presenters should not depend on the wireless connection to access data for their presentation.

After the conference has ended, you will receive an email regarding post conference proceedings. A submission upload portal will be available for a few weeks in which you can grant legal permissions and upload your presentation.
