I've been looking to try CityEngine, but I received a similar error message as user RAlpha above stating that it had expired on 5 May. Any chance for an updated trial license?

Thanks for the follow up @TaishaFabricius Given Catalina is already 67% of version share and Mojave is less than 11%, it seems Macs essentially aren't supported and I'd need to get a Windows computer to use CityEngine. Good to know.

Thank you for reporting this.
If you check the system requirements, then you will see that CE is supported up until MacOS Mojave. We don't currently officially support Catalina or Big Sur.
...that's not always to say that it wont work on other OSX but rather that it was only tested up until Mojave. Sorry I can't give you a "quick fix" for now. Luke, you mentioned you have another machine with Catalina and got it running on that. I would say that is your best bet for the moment.

Hi @TaishaFabricius @ThomasFuchs, I'm getting the same error as @LukeMadera, above. Just got a new MacMini with M1 and Big Sur that was hoping to use for CityEngine. Any updates coming down the pike? Thank you!
Thanks @TaishaFabricius and @ThomasFuchs Unfortunately it is not working for me - are the new M1 (Silicon) Macs and Big Sur supported? I get an error after I activate and try to launch CityEngine saying "Procedural Runtime initialization failed. See Log for details." I don't see the "Log" and am not sure how to see it.
I happen to temporarily have another old 2015 Mac that is still on Catalina and that worked, so maybe it is some combination of M1 chip and / or Big Sur? I looked at the system requirements and they seem outdated as the last Mac OS listed is Mojave (which is now down to only 10% market share so I'm assuming others have it working on more recent systems). I did not see anything about M1 / Silicon chips and googling the error only led to me to some old CityEngine 2013 versions where the solution was just to install a new build.

Yes, the CityEngine trial still works with the activation code provided in the initial post of this thread.
I a trial license still available? I would love to test drive 🙂

Just a bit of feedback as to why I asked ... the 30 day free trial is/can be a real time saver for some of us who otherwise need to go through our IT departments in order to access these latest releases and then wait for them to be packaged up into official software updates. This way saves me days if not weeks sometimes and is especially handy if you want to test and implement something in the latest release (as is the case now) for an upcoming deadline.
