The spatial distribution and dynamics of fishing resources are a consequence of the action of different natural and anthropogenic factors such as environmental conditions, habitat degradation, and intensity of fishing effort. The estuarine area of the Río de la Plata and its oceanfront are characterized by a great variability in their environmental conditions, significantly influencing the distribution of the main fishing resources targeted by the artisanal and industrial fleets.
