Esri Leaflet: Base maps Esri Netherlands in a web map

Leaflet<\/A> is a JavaScript library for creating interactive web maps. If you want to use ArcGIS services in a Leaflet web map, you need to add the Esri Leaflet<\/A> plugin. The standard projection for web maps is Web Mercator, and that is also the default for Leaflet.<\/P>

Esri Netherlands<\/A> however offers very beautiful base maps in the Dutch projection (RD_New\/EPSG: 28992). Is it also possible to use these maps as a background? Yes, that is possible!<\/P>

For using maps in a projection other than Web Mercator, there is the

Proj4Leaflet<\/A> plugin, and this can also be used in combination with Esri content. Of course, some knowledge of projections, spatial reference systems, and tiling is required. The Esri Leaflet team<\/A> provides on their GitHub page itself an example with an English map (EPSG:27700)<\/A>.<\/P>
