With AppStudio for ArcGIS, an app only needs to be created once and can then be easily deployed as native apps for Android, iOS, Linux, OS X, or Windows. These apps can be shared within the organization or made available to the public in the common app stores. With the web version of AppStudio, apps can be very easily configured with ready-to-use templates. With the desktop version, developers can customize the templates to their own needs or create completely new ones "from scratch." Apps created with AppStudio are based on the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Qt/QML.

AppStudio for ArcGIS 1.2 includes new functionality and the AppStudio templates, website, desktop developer tools, and AppStudio Player have been updated.
The highlights are:

Support for Portal for ArcGIS

AppStudio apps can now also be managed in Portal for ArcGIS (on-premises).
