The new generation of the ArcGIS Runtime SDKs is now making progress, and a Beta 2 of the Quartz release has now been published for Android. Due to extensive architectural and functional changes, the release was slightly delayed.

Unlike Beta 1, in which only online data could be used, Beta 2 now also allows offline data to be used, which can either be created with ArcGIS Desktop or extracted via a task from a service for offline use. The offline data can also be edited locally and synchronized again, and routing and geocoding can now also be performed locally on the mobile device. New is also the possibility to use vector tiles in the map, which can be provided both online and offline. Vector tiles have the advantage that they are faster and smaller and look better at high resolution. Mobile map packages created with ArcGIS Pro can also be used in the app.

3D data is not yet supported in this Beta 2 version. This will be added in the final version of Quartz.
