When creating a survey with Survey123 for ArcGIS, a folder is created in Portal or ArcGIS Online called "Survey-SurveyName". Inside this folder, there is a form item and a feature service (if the service was not created before publishing). However, you may notice that when starting to work with permissions on the Survey123 website, certain new hosted views appear in your survey folder. You may also find error messages related to these views, so it is important to point out where and why they exist.
The hosted views you can see are SurveyName_fieldworker and SurveyName_stakeholder. Both are hosted views automatically created from the main feature service, and they are used to manage permissions for different aspects of the survey.
The Fieldworker view is generated when creating the survey on survey123.arcgis.com. The Stakeholder view is generated when modifying the sharing settings from survey123.arcgis.com.
Creating the survey from survey123.arcgis.com > Generates Fieldworker
Collaborate > Viewer > Generates Stakeholder
Fieldworker:
Fieldworker is used to manage submission permissions to the survey as a non-owner. Therefore, if you want to modify whether a user can add/update, only add, or only update surveys, you must manage these permissions through the hosted view.
This is where things get a bit complicated: the Fieldworker view is only generated if the survey is published from the Survey123 website. If you have published from Connect, all submission permissions are simply managed in the main feature service, and the Fieldworker view is not created.
Stakeholder:
The Stakeholder view is used to manage viewing permissions of the survey as a non-owner. Therefore, when any user other than the survey owner views the Data tab on the Survey123 website, the Stakeholder view from ArcGIS Online is queried to display the map on the site. Thus, it is possible to filter or manage permissions from this view to dictate how and what users see on the Data tab.
