How to extract features from High Resolution mosaic(tiff)

Question

I have a very high resolution map(tif) i.e. drone image as shown in the image.
Is there any way we could extract features including building and road etc. from high resolution image.

Please help me out regarding this. I would be thankful to you for this.

You may also want to have a look at segmentation: Understanding segmentation and classification—Help | ArcGIS Desktop . This is a very "easy" (read "less manual") way of identifying objects in high res images.

May be if you could provide some link in which some one has extracted features or classified some images.
