I created a map and selected my extent. When I try to download it to may Adobe Illustrator Artboard here is the screen shot for my question

We write some temporary files to your user profile folder, it looks like you don't have permissions to do that on your machine. Can you check if you have write access to:
C:\Users\<youruser>\AppData\Roaming\
C:\Users\<youruser>\Documents\Adobe\
