Page Definition and arcpy

Is there a way to enable the Page Definition Query using arcpy? Ideally I would like to insert a string into a layer's Definition Query, then enable Page Definition.

I don't see anything, but the help link for Arcpy is here in case I missed something

It's not as easy as just setting the page definition query once, but if you're using arcpy to export the DDP anyhow, you could just change the definition query before exporting, for each page.

I didn't see anything either. I thought it was worth a shot posting in case someone else had figured it out.
