Hi Guys Im wondering if someone would take the time to steer me in the right direction. Im looking at creating a layer on areas where water would/could  pond. I have created a depressionless DEM derived from LiDAR data and I am familiar with ArcGIS hydrology toolset. Thanks in advance Sera

Generally speaking, things like ponding depend on many factors, therefore you should look into an Overlay analysis approach.

In your overlay analysis, you may want to take into account factors such as:

• Depressions/Sinks
• Soil (porosity, available water capacity, whether it is frozen, etc)
• Human made drainage (catch basins)
