SLD with WMSLayer on 4.2?

I know that on 3.19 SLD was not supported (according to the documentation) What about in 4.2 where there's no WMSLayer class? which one is replacing it (WebTileLayer??)? and can I use SLD on that one?? (any example?) [this is an SLD from an external provider)

Note:

The WMSLayer does not support using Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD) documents.
