Someone sent me a lyr file. I don't have ArcGis.

Can anyone tell a total novice in GIS how to deal with a lyr file sent to me by someone that is supposed to contain site contours? I have no idea what to do with it to access the information. Thanks.

Hi there,

You could always get a free trial version of ArcGIS Desktop and then open it or get the free version of ArcGIS Explorer.
