How to hook into sync local edits event

I'm building a C#/.NET plugin to ArcMap and I need to hook into a UI event so I can run some custom code in addition to what the button normally does. It's the "Synchronize Local Edits with Server" button. I included a screenshot below with the menu option I'm referring to highlighted.
