Is it me or ArcGis try to connect GPS only on COM port?
I surely made a mistake ( maybe i didn't catch something )
Today it's all on USB connexion
Of course i find something else to go on but it's so clumsy ....
We may have to do the same thing. I sure hope not though.
I just came across this blog post by Esri Australia that might help:
How to connect your USB GPS handheld device to ArcGIS Desktop | Esri Australia Technical Blog
Try DNRGPS
DNRGPS Application: Minnesota DNR
they have real time capabilities
REAL TIME MENU — DNRGPS 6.0 documentation
When the ArcMap GPS toolbar was introduced most GPS devices would have connected via COM port. I don't think the toolbar has been updated to handle USB devices. ESRI should seriously consider updating the toolbar as almost all consumer GPS devices are now USB.
Is this what you are referring to ArcGIS Help (10.2, 10.2.1, and 10.2.2)
