Can't copy and paste from Excel into ArcGIS Pro?
The "Excel to table" tool doesn't help you?
It doesn't look like much of anything can be pasted in Pro? At least I haven't been able to find anything that an be pasted onto a Layout in Pro....

Do you have a timetable on when excel will be a compatible format? What dataset formats are available in the 1st release?
You could create an image file of the Excel document manually and then insert it as a picture. It's not great, but it's a possible workaround until tables are available.
Even pasting as a picture would be better than nothing.
