problems with hardware acceleration on windows 10 pc

Question

Hi,

I have a windows 10 laptop that when I bring in tutorial data into ArcMap 10.2.1 from the editing exercise 1 it does not load and then bombs me out of the application.

I suspect this to be because I selected accept hardware acceleration but need to narrow this down as our IT department cant seem to disable hardware acceleration now I have selected to use it.

Any help would be much appreciated, or is there a specific install for windows 10 I should be using
