It would be useful to have an optional confirmation prompt when stopping an active line capture in QuickCapture.
Our biosecurity team uses QuickCapture to record GPS tracks while inspecting properties, alongside buttons for rapidly capturing pest locations. Currently, a single tap on the active tracking button stops the recording, making it easy to accidentally end a track and continuing without realising.
We recently had a user accidentally stop a track, which opened the configured button user input questions. When trying to exit those questions to return to recording, they encountered the “Delete the record?” prompt and ended up deleting the captured track as just wanted to exit the app.
Ideally, project authors could enable a confirmation option for individual buttons. Tapping an active button would then present two clear choices:
- Continue recording: dismiss the prompt and keep recording the same track.
- Stop and save: end the track and proceed to any configured questions.
Recording should continue while the confirmation is displayed. This should be optional, so it doesn’t add extra steps to workflows where quick switching between buttons is intentional.
This would help prevent accidental interruptions and reduce the risk of losing tracks collected over several hours.
