On Sept 16, 2026, the seventh ArcGIS Monitor User Group meeting was held. Technical experts from Esri Spain and Esri Global shared their experiences using ArcGIS Monitor. Esri Spain provided strategies and tips for proactive management of an enterprise GIS, and Esri Global discussed how ArcGIS Monitor can be leveraged to support and enhance the success of ArcGIS Enterprise migration projects.
This session featured the following presenters:
- Andrés Paredes Fernández, Esri Spain
- Alberto Ordóñez García, Esri Spain
- Udaya Gandham, Esri Global - Dubai office
ArcGIS Monitor User Group meeting #7 - An International Perspective
Webinar attendee submitted questions & answers:
Q1) Will ArcGIS Monitor adopt Agentic AI technology in the future, allowing the system to automatically analyze and troubleshoot alerts or incidents, and potentially perform automated remediation or resolution actions?
A1) Yes. ArcGIS Monitor 2026.1 will ship with a model context protocol (MCP) endpoint as a beta feature. This will allow you to connect an AI to access the collected data from Monitor. Admins will be able to use natural language and AI to query and analyze the data.
Q2) In the next release of Monitor, can AI help us make the specific analysis views that we want to create for monitoring?
A2) No, using the MCP for ArcGIS Monitor 2026.1 beta – it will not be able to create analysis views with AI.
Q3) Do you have any recommendations on automating setting up analysis collections? We've got A LOT of clients on shared servers, and it's quite painful to setup the collections in the UI.
A3) Currently there is no automated way to create analysis views in batch.
Q4) Is the increased capability of showing more than 10 topics (i.e. 'series limit') at one time on a serial chart on the roadmap for future ArcGIS Monitor enhancements?
A4) Yes, this is on the ArcGIS Monitor development roadmap.
Q5) Is there a version dependency/compatibility between Monitor and Enterprise?
A5) ArcGIS Monitor 2026.0 will work with and can collect data from ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.x to 12.1, inclusive.
Q6) Can Monitor help me identify how whether I need to Scale out or Scale up my architecture? (Adding more VMs Vs Adding more specs to my existing VM)
A6) Yes. You will need to examine the collected data over time and determine if your current enterprise GIS deployment is performing to meet your organization's needs. E.g., is the system performance “good” and acceptable to your business criteria. If not, then this would be an indicator for you to add more system resources.
Q7) Can Monitor help me to cut down my cost spent on Infra? (For example: With the list of services I have, can Monitor help me to assess that I only need two VMs for my hosting server, whereas I am are using three, etc.)
A7) Yes, this is also possible by examining data collected by Monitor. Please watch ArcGIS Monitor user group meeting 2; Patrick Terry from the AZ Dept of Environmental Quality discusses this workflow for managing his enterprise GIS in AWS.
Q8) Can Udaya share the notebooks he is using to aggregate the Monitor data into the percentile metrics? or is there a way to do this in an analysis view?
A8) We are discussing with Udaya on possibly publishing some blogs that discuss this topic.
