As great as the iPad cameras are, they are just not good enough for those conducting our inspectioin patrols from helicopter. More and more, they are clamoring to go back to using handheld digital cameras to get the resolution they are looking for. It puts our whole QuickCapture usage processes at risk, or at least complicates them in what seems unnecessary ways.
Some digital cameras can connect to iPads via the USB-C connector as the primary camera. (I expect the capability to do so via BlueTooth should be coming shortly). If QuickCapture could recognize such an externally connected camera, in much the same way that it can for an external GPS device, the high resolution demands for such inspections could be met in conjunction with all of the existing QC projects.
