Starting with the ArcGIS Enterprise 12.2 release (expected in Q4 2026), ArcGIS Enterprise Sites will be renamed ArcGIS Hub in ArcGIS Enterprise.
If that name sounds familiar, it should. ArcGIS Hub is already what we call the same product in ArcGIS Online. With this change, we're aligning the names so the product is called ArcGIS Hub in both of Esri's foundational products.
Why the change?
In practice, ArcGIS Enterprise Sites and ArcGIS Hub are functionally similar products, they just went by different names depending on whether you were working in ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online. That created a bit of confusion, making it harder to recognize that you're working with the same capabilities in either environment.
This rename brings consistency to the way the product is named across ArcGIS, following the same pattern we already use for apps like ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS Instant Apps, which share one name in both ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online.
What it means for you?
ArcGIS Hub is the discovery, coordination, and engagement layer of ArcGIS. Giving it one consistent name makes it easier to find, learn, and talk about, no matter where you're using it.
Here's what stays the same:
- Your sites and content keep working. This is a name change, not a functionality change. Existing sites, pages, and content will continue to work as they do today.
- No action required. You don't need to migrate, reconfigure, or republish anything. The update is reflected automatically as part of the ArcGIS Enterprise 12.2 release.
- Earlier versions are unaffected. If you're not yet on 12.2, your software and documentation will continue using the ArcGIS Enterprise Sites name.
And here's what's ahead: aligning the name opens the door to bring more features in the future.
When will you see the new name?
The new name will appear across product interfaces, documentation, and marketing materials at the time of the ArcGIS Enterprise 12.2 release. To help with the transition, the 12.2 documentation will include a note reminding users of the name change at the start of each help topic.
