The City of Chico is hiring a GIS Analyst within the Community Development Department, and I wanted to share some additional context beyond what the official posting captures.
We are currently a two-person GIS division supporting the entire city, and this position will bring our team to three. I joined the division a year ago, so I am able to speak to what the role looks like from the perspective of someone who recently came into it. Together, the division supports Community Development, Engineering, Public Works, and any other department that requires spatial data, application development, workflow design, or public-facing mapping products.
