Field Maps under Microsoft Intune not initiating VPN tunnel

Hi all,
We are currently trialling swapping from AirWatch to Microsoft Intune for our MDM, but having some issues with Field Maps using a per-app VPN tunnel to access secured ArcGIS Enterprise resources.

When the tunnel is inactive, launching Field Maps (directly into a map) doesn't initiate the tunnel connection. Forcing a restart of Field Maps, and logging in/reloading a map does trigger the tunnel.

Opening a different app configured to use the tunnel does connect the tunnel, and then Field Maps will work without issue.

Anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions?
