I currently have a Survey123 Connect form copied from an advanced template filled out with my information. Within this survey I have a RFID PIT Imagery section that auto populates information taken from a scan. I utilize SerialMagic Keys to connect the scanner to Survey123 to transfer the PIT tag information from a Biomark HPR Lite Scanner to the survey form. However, before I can start scanning, I must manually click the question every single time. This waste time to scroll down to that section every time click it, then scan. I usually fill out other information like lengths, species, and weights of fish. I would rather have the capability to scan the tag or fish whenever is convenient in the tagging process and have the scanner automatically fill that question without prior action of clicking it. My coworker was able to make this work for other programs with a Raspberry PI. Biomark DCM already implements this into all their survey forms also. In practice the data recorder is holding the scanner and entering the data while the fish processor is tagging the fish and measuring. A lot of times the fish is already tagged so the order at which things occur can be sped up if the data recorder just scans the fish right at the beginning of processing to identify if the fish needs a tag or not. That allows the fish processor to skip those steps and with the forms capabilities as they are now it makes it inconvenient to scroll down to that PIT Imagery section. It would be nice if the form automatically recognized that the tag was scanned and fill it in the appropriate section.
