Set a Metadata Style Different Than Organization

My ArcGIS organization uses a different metadata style than my program/group wishes to adopt for our data products in ArcGIS (and actively uses outside the ArcGIS environment). Is there a setting, or a plan to incorporate one in the future, to upload data with metadata in a style separate from the organization?

Today, ArcGIS applies metadata styles at the organization level in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise. Organizations can choose from a limited set of predefined metadata styles, and once selected, that style determines which metadata elements are required (as shown in the Required tab of the metadata editor) and how metadata is visualized in XML and HTML across the organization.

There is currently no out‑of‑the‑box way to customize these requirements, such as relaxing required elements or adding new ones.

Teams are currently scoping functionality to better configure the metadata editing experience in order to support an organization’s specific metadata requirements.

As part of this work, we’re looking to better understand real‑world needs to help shape requirements and prioritization. It would be helpful to learn:

• Which metadata standard or profile your program is using (or intends to use)
• How the metadata styles Esri currently supports differ from your organization’s needs
• What impacts you’re seeing today without this functionality (for example, inability to meet external requirements, loss of information)
